Sam is training. Ravn plays his morning playlist without being asked — it knows the routine. Halfway through, his Garmin registers an elevated heart rate during a rest period.

Sam"Yeah just got a text. All good."
Ravn"Got it. About twelve minutes left if you want to hit the zone two finish and still make your eight o'clock call."
Sam glances at the clock. He would have lost track.
Jake can't find his cleats. Emma has a permission slip that was due yesterday. The dog needs feeding. It is organized chaos in the best possible way.

Sam had completely forgotten about that note. Ravn hadn't.

Ravn"You have three things this afternoon. Internal review at two-thirty that Marcus can run without you. Vendor call at four that can reschedule. Emma's soccer game at six which I would not touch. I'd suggest moving the vendor call to Friday and sliding David in at four. Want me to handle both?✦ Awaiting your call"
Sam"Yes. And send David a note that I'll call him at four."

Sam had already forgotten. Again.

Sam is quiet for a moment. He drives a little faster.
Sam makes it. Two minutes to spare. He stands on the sideline next to Sarah. Emma sees him and waves from the field. He didn't check his phone once during the game. Ravn had it.
At 6:42 his wrist buzzes. A quiet notification. Trash reminder — bin needs to go out tonight.
He nudges Sarah. She laughs. "Did Ravn tell you that?" — "Yeah." — "I love that thing."
